Hello! I did not see much, if any information on folks installing these, so I just wanted to share that I successfully installed a Cold Air Inductions Intake on my 2025 Tahoe 6.2. It was just as simple as you would think. For the current discounted price ($399) you get a great kit that goes together very nicely. The filter itself is HUGE. It's not your typical "cone" style filter, but has an angular, and oblong shape. The housing is simple and easily mounts right to the bottom of the existing air filter box. The entire install took me 25 minutes, and I really took my time. Aesthetically, it really cleans up the engine bay. It's a very clean looking kit. I was debating on this or the Rotofab, but i really prefer the looks of the CAI. As far as performance goes it's too early to tell if I've gained any MPG's per their claim, but I did have some fun n the test drive! The sound under load (especially WOT) is nice. Not too loud, but just audible enough to sound like the sweet V8 it is. I don't have a performance exhaust and am not sure if I want one. I like the comfort of this vehicle and I'd like to avoid any drone...especially the wonky drone in V4 mode!

It is a very clean and good looking setup, and I'm sure that it sounds great. My question to you is, where is the intake air going into the air filter box coming from. Is it connected to an air supply from outside of the engine bay, or is it pulling air from inside the engine bay. If it is pulling air from inside of the engine bay, then it is not really a cold air intake system.

I don't know about the 6.2 Tahoes, but the 6.2 Yukons already have CAI installed as OEM equipment, with the air intake actually connected to the quarterpanel with the air intake coming from the other side of the quarterpanel (outside of the hot engine bay).

I believe it's the same. The filter box is sourcing air from outside of the engine bay.

That looks very similar to the OEM one.....I'm guessing you sourced it right from the Cold Air Inductions Website?

$399 is a good deal.

I wish someone would post pictures of their OEM CAI from GM so we could compare, its a bit of a unicorn.

I tried about 6 months ago. I gave each dealer the part number and each told me that it was no longer for sale by GM. Apparently, GM had some issues with the programming for the MAF sensor that was a part of the CAI.

FWIW I was also told, but was never able to confirm, that Rotofab manufactured the CAI for GM.

That's probably good intell but what's interesting is you can add the Performance Package to a 2025 build and in that package is the Cat Back Exhaust AND the CAI.

I was at Phoenix International Raceway in November for the last NASCAR race of 24, outside the track GM had a big display of the new 2025 products and there was 25 Tahoe RST there with that CAI on it.

Correct. Which makes it all the more strange.

I also suspect that GM would require a TisWeb file for the ECM to address the CAI too.

Doubtful. They’re not going to spend time releasing a new cal for older models in the chance 100 customers wanted the CAI, and they’re not going to want to pay dealers to flash trucks for owners to get 3.25 hp on top of the 420 already there.

Very clean setup and nice product. I installed a C.A.I. intake on my Camaro ZL1 and I loved it.

I was finally able to get the GM part numbers for the factory Performance Upgrade Package CAI and Cat Back Exhaust.

Part numbers so you could at least purchase through your local GM dealer.
87845963 – Air Filter Kit
84888291 – Exhaust Kit

The air intake kit is only available as an accessory when you buy the truck new. It can't be added later. Has something to do with programming. I have the K&N intake tube and filter going into the stock air intake housing. It eliminates the big air silencer at the throttle body with just a nice smooth tube. It was $199 from Summit. It sounds fantastic. I just installed a Dyno Max 17789 muffler and it sounds great. Both together make a beautiful sound, not loud but a little deeper.

Thanks for posting this. Have any pics of the setup on your truck?

More importantly, any engine codes? (I put an aftermarket intake on my '09 Tahoe and threw enough codes with it that I took it off. I'd like to add one to my '23 Denali, but won't put up with codes again...)

Thank you. And if you know exactly which one (part #?) you got and can share that info, I’d appreciate it. Thanks.
