I was practicing social distancing when this happened at Oregon Dunes near Florence. Too steep to turn, getting stuck sounded better than rolling.

$200 for a tow service to winch me out. I had 1"x30' kinetic rope but the biggest vehicle around was a VW rail.

been on those dunes many times, good save and only $200 versus totaling it out (I've done that, not on the dunes though)

Living in Oregon, I have been to the Dunes near Florence many times but always in a dune buggy of sorts. Quads are popular too. I know the owner of a lifted 02 Tahoe that used to run out there with big wide sand 38" tires and pulled lots of people out. Have seen people stuck like this before.

Larry, shoveling helps there sometimes but mostly the sand just fills right back in. Frustrating to say the least. But good times for sure.

I was totally joking, for anyone who didn't get it. That'd be a heck of a lot of shoveling, and you'd probably bury your truck first.

Larry, I knew you were joking. I hate text as a way to be sarcastic because you lose something in the translation. I totally totally got it. Yea, shoveling sand where there is nothing BUT sand, is futile. Been there at the dunes and tried. It is a waste of time.

Ron,

Yeah, I kinda figured you did, but I also realized that others might not have.

Tim, Com'on, remember Do the Dew?

Have to mix the two of them though for this job.

Heard of it but never saw a can of it before. I was too busy drinkin', wait for this blast from the past, Budweiser Malt Liquor.

Holy cow! $200 was a great deal. I just purchased and lifted a Tahoe that had been lowered - some height can make a big difference - just not usually front and rear approach angles at the same time! :)
