I might have found a gem that is about 1/2 mile from my American Legion post

You're asking half of what I paid for my 06, but necessity dictated that I couldnt be picky or wait at the time. So i think you're being more than reasonable on your asking price.

It looks like 2 members at the American Legion post are interested in the 2002 now. The price to them is $6000. It is a waiting game now. I washed the rig and wiped down the inside and vacuumed everything and cleaned the Husky mats. It is as ready as it is going to get to sell.

Took my new rig on a road run yesterday. About 100 miles round trip. Performed flawlessly and amazingly enough averaged 16.2 MPG. That 3.42 GU6 gear makes a difference. I had a member at the American Legion post call me out from eating inside and asked when I bought the new rig and what I paid. I told him I paid $8k for it. He said he would give me $9k for it on the spot. I said no thanks but did tell him of the 2002 Z71 in Portland, Or. for $7200 and has 128k miles on it and is the same Olive Green color as my 2002. He seemed very fascinated with the spider web wheels.

This one is in Gresham, Or. and is an 06:

That sounds like a good one. I love the color too.
Why doesn't your buddy want to buy your 02? The guy who offered you 9k on the spot.

He wants the rig for his wife and is now considering the 02 for her at $5k. The head bartender at the post also wants it for her daughter. Time will tell.

But he liked the looks of my 2005 so much he wanted it for himself.

She came back and really likes it, especially the power she feels from a stop with the 3.73 gear. She is taking to her mechanic on Monday to have a look see. I am not worried about that. Absolutely no leaks on the rig, everything works and she says she has a relative that does paint and body work to fix the scratches and clear coat at the top of the 2 driver's side doors.

Nice. I'm sure it'll be no problem. Do you trust her to take it tho? Going with her? I think I would, but I have a hard time trusting people.

The whole story is she is a tenant here that used to be my girlfriend at one time about 2-3 years ago and then we parted and she has family in Texas and went there to be with her daughter during her pregnancy and after. She is a retired flight attendant. She has a home here and land in Washington with a trailer there and land in Texas. She rode in the Tahoe with me before. She is back in town and I/We have been talking and it looks like we may be getting back together. So, yea, I trust her. If it was just some shmuck I did not know I would be going with them for sure. She will be a surprise when I end up taking her to the American Legion to meet them. No one there knows about her or our history. She loves Trump like me and is not a smoker and is easy on the eyes. Have no idea at all what she sees in me. But I live by the creed, "Either dazzle 'em with brilliance or baffle 'em with ********".

Ooooo, nice. I hope you guys get everything worked out :naughty:
I'm glad it's going to someone you know and trust with it. Hopefully she'll take good care of it. I'm sure you'll make sure she does :)

The thing is, if she buys it, it will be around me all the time still. I know this rig inside and out and it would be great to have it close to me after selling it. Her too of course.

Another true story about her. Her ex husband used to be the head of security for an old country western singer, Charlie Pride, and she has shown me pics of the many road trips over the years and has pics of her and her husband with Charlie Pride out on the road and at concerts. She has some great stories. Her dad was a Captain in the Navy, too. I met him before he passed away about 3 years ago.

In Miami Beach [or anywhere in South Florida] the Tahoe would be gone forever. A lot of owners that go for a test drive with the prospective buyer end up having guns pulled on them as they are being kicked out of their own vehicle. Some get shot. I trust extremely few people.

I carry my concealed at all times, so it would be a stand off if they pulled on me. I expect, nowadays, the idiots and thieves to be out there. I plan for the worst and hope for the best. I am let down on a regular basis.
I am right there with you but you know what they say- there is a lawyer attached to every bullet.

Can anyone tell me where this bracket is located? Is it there to help support the in line fuel filter?

https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=10357828&cc=1380372&jsn=914

I did not replace the fuel filter on this rig because before I bought my tools a friend with a mobile service did it for me.

The lady interested in buying my 2002 had it inspected yesterday. The shop said the bracket is broken but I can't picture it.

The shop also said the front tires shows alignment wear but they are only 5k miles old and I had it aligned when I did the tires and I verified the setting were correct from the printout. Unless a steering component has gone bad but the shop did not say anything in the suspension was bad or worn and I feel nothing wrong with the steering. They said as I expected that there are no fluid leaks but did say it needed both diff services and that was done within the last 3k miles. So I call ******** on that. They also said the sector shaft is needed. I knew that it needed removed, cleaned and lubed but I have not done it because there is no safety problem there and I can feel it and has been the same since I bought it.

Sounds to me like the people at this shop are just looking for anything. Do you have your receipts from when things were done? Could use those to show the interested party that the alignment was done and is correct. That would disprove the shop’s claim about the tires and diffs needing to be done. As for that bracket, can’t help you on that one.
