I might have found a gem that is about 1/2 mile from my American Legion post

Hmmm...this is from Oregon Performance Transmisduon, the one you linked. I was surprised to hear it’s supposed to help on the 3-4 shift since my understanding is that’s it the second gear servo and this just helped the 1-2 shift.

PRODUCT DETAILS
Sonnax 2nd gear "Corvette" ratio servo kit 77701-04K provides increased apply area resulting in improved holding power for firmer 1-2 and 3-4 shifts. The servo piston features D-rings in place of the OE seal rings for improved sealing during apply and release. This kit is compatible with Sonnax 4th gear Super Hold dual servo assembly 77767K. Features & Benefits: Upgrade used for high performance or heavy-duty towing applications. Improved D-ring sealing configuration.

My trans builder Performabuilt says it’s just to increase the second gear “apply pressure” which results in a firmer 1-2 shift.
TBH, I’m not seeing the same exact kit I bought a year or so ago. They may have changed it up a bit. I’ll have to dig up my invoice to see..

Yeah, I looked up my invoice and it’s not listed as available anymore. Huh.

Description from my order is: “ OPT-CV-Pin Corvette Servo Piston & Long Pin 700R4 4L60E 4L65E 4L70E 4L75E Automatic Transmission 2nd Gear”

congratulations, the differences of what it has and doesn't have versus your 02 is all in the trim level, a lower trim level like the 05 lt I bought ol' lady doesn't have traction control, nor stabiltrac. one difference it will have is electric fans.

I wouldn't want that crap either.

I don't understand why people are still "afraid" of safety features after all these years. Especially traction control and stability control which are pretty basic systems and have proven to be reliable. I'm a pretty attentive and defensive driver but there have been a couple of times in my driving career that the safety features truly saved me from an accident.

After all that nickel and diming back and forth, you're now going to sell the wheels separately and tires with 40% tread left??

Not selling the Z71 wheels and said that 2-3 posts before you posted this. Yes I will sell the tires for $100.

I don’t think folks are “afraid”.. I think they want less restrictions on certain things.. no TC= easier burnouts.. Don’t have to mess with pulling a fuse, deactivating this and that.. as well, more things to break, which require work and $$ to fix.

He called me and said he would sell to me for $8000 and I went and bought it and have it home. I will post pics of it after I clean it.

The test drive was great the other day and my drive home was great. He has a Kenwood stereo in it with a remote for it. Two working key fobs and keys.

So, the quest is over and both sides happy. Time to start going thru it and making a list for this and that. Thanks all for any support given in this thread. In the end, I was just not going to find one in this good of shape anywhere within 200 miles of me.

Happy for ya man, good luck with her! :)

It is sitting out under the back half of my car port and it is covered with ash that is floating in the air here with fires in the mountains around the area. When people are driving there are clouds of ash billowing up behind their rigs. No danger here but to some of the outlying areas are being evacuated. Even if you don't want to wear the mask, most are because of the smoke in the air.

If someone is worried about doing burnouts then they’re not concerned with breaking things or fixing things... There's almost nothing to break on stability and traction control, the same module that handles ABS handles it so the module is already there. And do NOT tell me you can pump the brakes faster than the ABS.

I just heard over the radio that there is 55 square miles of Lane County that is on fire. Kind of eery around here with the sun making the smoke in the air orange. Ash flying in the air makes me look like I have a severe case of dandruff.

We sometimes see the same weather when the winds are out of the west and they are burning down the cane fields for harvesting, but those are controlled burns!

Yea, they are trying to control. Fortunately I am in town and pretty safe but the smoke and ash is crazy and it looks like dusk out there. I have some trees at the back of the property here and one is dead. I counted 11 turkey vultures all sitting in the same tree and can see their forms in a group. Looks like a scene from a horror movie.

Lol, too bad you didn't get a pic of that. That'd be a great avatar.
