Is it illegal to have Blue Neon license plate lights in the front and back or has a new law been passed where neon lights are not permitted on the outside of the vehicle. I know this is very 1980 early 90's retro style but Ive always liked the glow of neon underbody and neon license plate. I live in North Dakota so who know. The cold air will more than likely make them crack anyways but I'm going to have them installed onto a toggle switch so they are not on all the time. only when I flip the switch. I had them on my Limited edition 2003 Yamaha R1 that had the DR. X Tail light that had the turn signal, brake and 12 different animations you could change it with clicking the brake light 3 times fast. It sure brought a lot of attention but the bike I loved broke me down also. I was doing about 110MPH more than likely 100MPH wheelie on the interstate and as I pulled up by a minivan I don't know what the driver was thinking but she slammed on her brakes, I had three choices, Run into the back of the van and maybe hurting kids if they were in the way back seat, lay it down and slide it out on the asphalt or swerve right and lay it down and slide half on asphalt and half on green grass so I went for option three, very bad choice because I went into the ditch and there happened to be an approach about 20 yards in and I hit that and went flying off of that and landing on my back destroying my life. The Minivan lady never did stop, she left me there to scream in agony and pain, thank God I had a couple riders with me who called in 911 and that is how my back got to the point its at right now. I had 4 herniated discs that were repaired but my cartilage is deteriorating at a faster pace than the Doctor's anticipated, I lost my job because of the extreme pain, the insurance I had through work dropped me and I cant get work in my condition. Fusion is not a cure all and I maybe in more pain than before and I would lose all mobility from fusion. They gave me the option of disc replacement but they only due 2 at a time in the states and I need 7 disc replacement's which is about 5 to7 years away. My physical and mental state are shot I feel like I cant live my life like this, I wake up 2 or 3 times a night hollering in pain and my wife helps me roll over, I would not wish this on my worst enemy. I hate being at home and writing to the Tahoe and Yukon Forums is the only things that keeps me sane because I like helping people and talking with new people with the same passions I have GMC Yukon Xl Denali's and other SUV's. Thank you to everybody for the help and Ill try to help as much as I can.

Well i have blue underglow neons on my tahoe and have never been pulled over for them. But i have also heard of people who have lights on their plates and have been tickited and supposedly broken light i cant confirm or deny that part. But as long as its not resembling a police officer its fine. The neon laws down here say blue lights cannot be flashing unless on an emergency vehicle. Ouch bro that really sucks with the bike thats a good reason why i havnt picked up a bike luckily you are still with us and not 6ft under. Materials can be replaced but not life but ivwould say if on a switch its fine but if you get one it will most likely say for offroad use only so it really is gonna depend on the cop. I used to install neons in customer cars but they never got pulled over neither. Hope i helped bro

I can speak for texas you can have them for off road and show use and they can be used on the streets as long as the tubes can't be seen. And item two they can't cause a distraction toother motorist.

I can speak for Arizona, ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! Offroad use only, never while driving on public roafs. Check your local lighting laws and codes. It will give you the correct answer.

I use to be big into blue lights like 12+yrs ago on my Karmann Ghia, and would put them everywhere. Got pulled over many times. Here in AZ, can't have blue or any shade or blue, green ect. In rear of vehicle, to be seen from 500 ft away. Front can't have red, blue or any shade or blue, green ect. Facing forward seen from 300ft away. I am going off my head here, but have laws in my computer.
I use to run them on the sides of vehicle, as long as they weren't visible from front or back, I was fine.

Again, best advise, check local laws online in your state.

Here in Ontario the MTO ministry if transpiration of Ontario governs what you can and can't do it regards to some of the above stuff.

Blue here is reserved for snow ploughs. Here I believe it is illegal.

The MTO website also lays out guidelines for other colours and there use and specifically the colours used for pedestrian vehicles and there stops turns, tails, running lights etc.

When did you get into your motorcycle accident?

How long have you been out of work because of it?

What was the job that you had where you were let go because of the accident?

There might be some other helpful resources available to you, depending on the facts and circumstances of your situation.

doing wheelies at 100 MPH? enjoy your ****** up back you ******* maniac

Im not a ******* Maniac Im a ******* Dumbass. At the time the adrenaline keeps you doing more like a drug, you do more and more until you hit rock bottom and I ruined my life doing dumb shit that I wish I could take back. Having a bad back ***** your whole world up because everything you do you need you need back your back to do work, lift, move around, in my severe case walk. I lost me job because I couldn't perform the duties I needed to do even though I was a Manager at a Cargill Corn Milling plant and I had to go out in the field with a bad back and they labeled me as a liability "******'s" and for me "Dumb ****" I was 36 years old had a great job living on easy street and one moment in time is going to alter my future until I die?? Im still mad at myself and for the lady in the minivan I don't know why you did that but if I startled you its my bad. I hold myself accountable and if I seen her again I would probably apologize to her for startling her and possibly getting her and her kids in an accident. Thank God for leather Jacket, Leather armored Gloves and Helmet. I can see myself where a one piece race suit like some dudes around here used to where. I drag raced a couple of them I had my Custom R1 and he had a Hayabusa, 999CC against 1398CC. Fastest production bike off the production line and a fast bike but not 200MPH fast. He wanted to race for pink slips He didn't see that I had a 40 shot of NOS under my tail. I have under tail exhaust so I painted the bottle to look like it a part of exhaust. He wanted a 1/2 mile race so his big bike could get up to speed and with a longer strip, I seen it as I have enough length to pop off the Nitrous in second, and third or fourth gear depending how well the race is going. I just freshly just filled my bottle so I know I had the juice now I just needed to urge the system with out anyone noticing. So I have 5 friends out there with there bike and they circled me and all of them were smoking some bud to make the smoke haze around us as I purged my lines. He thought it would be a cake walk so I played it like Im losing my bike, I asked if I could get at least 2 bike lengths and he said racing for slips there is no negotiating. So he played into my hand. I drag at a course in Minnesota at least a couple times a week so I know her would be mine off the line and when he gets nose to nose with me I would hit it with a 40 shot. Right off the line I was gone and he was a rookie because he popped wheelie taking him time to get going. I was at least 5 lengths ahead of him I was in second getting near the light he was a bike behind me so I hit the spray blowing me ahead by at least 7 lengths getting near the end he was catching up and I don't even know if I had to hit the last spray but I did it anyways I was in third and I popped it off and I crushed him by 8 lengths and a barely used 2007 Hayabusa with Yosh pipes going into my trailer, The guy cried and pleaded to get it back and I thought twice about it but if the tables were turned he would be talking shit loading up my baby. I just said before you race again make 100% sure you know what your up against. Check over his bike and ask questions, All you knew is what the magazines tell you, what they don't tell you is the skill set of the other driver and what he has hidden. I showed him my Nos and said with a 40 shot of spray from 2nd gear gives me at least 150 more horsepower at that point and with my light weight bike you weren't catching me and at the end to put the nail in the coffin I pumped another 40 shot in third gear to teach him a lesson. I never talked shit I tried to help him not to be so quick on the shift to Drag anyone not knowing their ride. I upgraded the Hayabusa engine to handle the turbo and the NOS plus the cold air K&N and with the upgrade she needs 100+ Octane fuel. It was a beast, repainted it and I never got to drive it, I planned to go legit and race the Hayabusa legally because of my dumbass stunt on interstate. My Busa Dyno 'ed at 697 HP at the rear wheel. I had to sell to take care of Hospital bills I should have held onto it and hire a driver because that same Busa is tearing up track until the Kawasaki ZX-14 showed its self and the wicked additions that can be added and that bike took over the raceways. My Busa beat it once but lost 13 in a one day show down. I may own another bike once again and it will be a sport bike and both tires will be on the ground. Easier said then done. But for my family it will be riding nice on my MV Agusta F4, $32,999.00 out of the crate so I will not be f'n around. Take Care and Drive safe
