Tahoe Hybrid has more horsepower and more torque, however... Is it quicker than the regular (gas powered) Tahoe with the same gearing ratio?

I dont think so, the Hybrid system controls everything for gas mileage GM did not set it up for acceleration know it throttles it back on a nhard acceleration. Amost impossible to get any wheel spin. Plenty of power though just not ever going to get a good hole shot LOL

mine has first gen software
haha spin the tyres with TC on

if I was running at 3000-3500 rpm @v8 mode engine speed i'd hit 100-120 mph pretty quick that is what you guys run it at 80-85mph or so huh? on the norms or 3.73 or 4.10

2100 rpm is the cruse speed in v4 @ 80-85mph

theoretical the "top speed" is 145-155mph...

So first gen software is better? Did the subsequent software update tone it down?

yeah mine was the first few to roll of the assembly line jan 08 so it has the older software

the newer revised software have governed limits
other wise it will "take off" on you.. I can rev it to red line 6,000 RPM... :burnout:

they put the new software after the toyota prius scandal

this guy in a hummer yesterday tried passing me I just press the gas a little and zoomed right by him. he was probably at 3500rpm
while I was at 2300 rpm
those hummers have a 6.2L 393hp too so he was all ready in the power band

Super cool. How can one tell if the 08 still has the old software?

Also, is it possible to retro-tune the older software onto a newer Tahoe Hybrid?

Black Bear?

Ok so top speed is a factor indeed, but how about quickness vs speed. Are you saying the Hybrid can get 0-60 quicker than a regular Tahoe?

I know the Hybrid comes with an aluminum hood and lift gate to lighten the load, but is that enough to account for the extra weight of those two electrical motors to a point where it can zip to 0-60mph quicker than a gas powered Hoe?

So the reg Tahoe is rated at 320hp and 340trq, while the Hybrid version is 332hp and 367trq.

Is that additional 12hp strictly from those two electrical motors? Or is that the standalone 6.0 Vortec tuned higher on the hybrid?

And if you smash on the gas pedal 0-60, do the electrical motors help propel the car past 30mph, or do they just completely shut off at that point?

reg Tahoe's have a 5.3 - hybrids get the 6.0 with increased hp and torque

combined output with the electrical motors is
379HP - 472ftlb...(leaked Cadillac escalate documentation )... that is why you can run 40MPH at 1,000RPM engine speed .. in v4 mode v4 mode will run upto 85mph(highest i have tested) you can also accelerate in v4 mode as well with E-assist.

they run at any speed when enough power is available from the power pack....

So going into V4 or activating E-assist is all done automatically? Or do you have to toggle V4 on/off?

How is reliability of the 11-13 Hybrids?

the item most likely to fail is the oring on oil tube( which is also common on the 5.3 as well) I would NOT buy one if this is present on a used one ( it means it was driven with very low oil pressure for a long period of time??)..i was going to get a 2012 but the low oil pressure light was on who knows how long that has been on.
