I have a water leak in the driver side, which I narrowed it down to be water entering the edge of windshield. I want to remove the exterior right side trim/molding (picture) of windshield so that I can apply some silicone and seal.

1. need guidance on how to remove and put it back the said trim/molding. is it just pull and push it back?
2. just in case it gets damaged while removing, can you please provide the part number
3. is silicone sealant good or any other sealant to be used

(pics are not from the problem vehicle windshieldtrim.JPG )
thanks

It’s installed with the windshield, at the same time. You need to replace the glass in order to replace that. And that’s not the seal, it’s just trim. You should be able to access the top and side urethane sealant from inside the truck by removing trim and headliner, and urethane is what you should use. If you pull that trim off the outside, you’ll be needing a new windshield or there will be a big ugly gap around it.
