I also converted to a led compatible flasher unit so I can cut all the ballasts of the off.

Brother in law just bought an LED headlight set. I think they are terrible cause they do not throw any light. He likes them cause they make the front his Yukon xl look cool in the day time. I would rather have visibility over coolness factor. IMO

Pick what you like, you have to live with it.

I want these tails... can you expound on why you want to cut off the ballasts? I am considering replacing all exterior bulbs with LED's anyway and realize I would need an LED compatable flasher, just didnt know the advantage to getting rid of the ballasts.

because you get a led compatible flasher that will flash at a fix rate regardless of load, the ballasts become unnecessary. so instead of them coming loose form there tape mount I just cut them out. Saves a pound or two of weight if you got the LED fronts from anzo as well. Just thinking Eco-freindly.
