Hello all i have a '16 yukon denali with magnaflow 3.5" catback and volant CAI 380 rwhp atm wanting to push over 400+ rwhp

Im looking to install kooks headers (28602401) and catted ypipes (28613200) but i want to know will it fit or the 8speed ypipe has different placement?

And when i search for headers they're mostly for silverado/sierra.. are all trucks and suv 6 or 8 speed the same down under and all ypipes fit?

Are there any gains with a header and a y pipe and a stock exhaust? Do you need a tune after a header install?

The new gen exhaust manifold are high flow and will not net that much hp, the real restriction lies in the ypipe which is where you get the most hp gains but since you'll upgrade to an aftermarket ypipe might aswell get the headers

Ive seen 20-25 rwhp gains with headers+ypipe.

And yes you need the tune, otherwise your car will run rich and get worse mpg and possibly less hp than stock.

20-25rwhp for headers/y-pipe seems to be pretty normal. I remember picking up 15-20 rwhp with shorties and around 30 with long tubes on my f-bodies.

How much of a gain would you see with a y-pipe though, if it is the restrictive part of the exhaust?

Just getting rid of the cats in general will yield hp(better flow), but he said the y-pipe was restrictive. Is it crimped, flattened, not mandrel bent?

if you can have a shop do a 3 inch y pipe and mate it to a cat back exhaust that will flow very well.

Its flattened to not hang lower than the underbody, take a look under your car and you'll 100% understand.
