Has anyone installed a permanent fuel pressure gauge?

Like one of these?

It would be helpful in diagnosing this hot soak starting issue I'm having. Nice to install a gauge on the rail that can stay there and just pop the hood to check it each time we start the vehicle to see what's happening when we get the intermittent long crank.

We used to run gauges like that on our drag cars. They weren't always accurate or should I say, they were consistently inaccurate, if the real pressure reading was 36 it read 43 but if the real was 33 it read 40; good enough. But before you spend any money, hold off for a day man!

The only time I would see an advantage of a permanently mounted fuel pressure gauge is if you were racing like James mentions above and it was somewhere that you can see it while driving.

This is on my list to add to the tool box. If the tank needs emptying for any reason (and the pump works), the Tech-2 can turn the pump on and pump the fuel out of the tank. Did this with my Buicks back in the day.

I was taught to take it apart at the filter and jump the relay. Now that they've eliminated the inline filter, that valve on the rail is the spot. Looks like a handy little guy.
