Those are some fantastic alternate route suggestions. Instead of the 8 minute route I think I'll take the 68 year route. Really great work there google.

BUT IT'S THE ECO ROUTE! You can save a leaf!

Did you select it to see what along the route adds an additional 68 years and 2.95 hours? Maybe there's a river or lake and Google is forecasting it to dry up due to global warming sometime within the next 6.8 decades, allowing you to pass. Or maybe it knows there's some gangs along the route and you'll end up letting your gat explode and layin' all dem bustahs down, putting you in prison for a while.

Waze, V1 and JBV1 is the only way to go. Has saved me many times as well. Waze by itself is better than nothing, but the trifecta works great.

The biggest reason I prefer Waze is that it shows you reports of hazard, police, pot holes, vehicles on shoulder, etc.

Unfortunately, directions from Waze don’t show up on the digital cluster or on the HUD.

It does on mine. I run through android auto, populates the HUD with written directions. This is just left of the current speed sign. I run pandora a lot, so with the android auto button, it pulls up waze as primary with pandora playing in background. There is a button to toggle between pandora and waze.

waze has real time notifications like road hazards, traffic flow, construction, railroad crossings, police or radar enforcement, red light camera's, etc
if there is accident on your route you can see where and how to maybe get around it depending on the available roadway
it's all reported in real time by other waze users, google maps comparably only offers a smidge of what waze does, even though it is now owned by google it was originally designed by another company

I did select it and it made the trip 2 mins longer. I was honestly a little disappointed.

Maybe I was supposed to pick up snoop dog and Warren G on the way?
