Alright boys, I'm doing it. The time has finally come.
I've come to my senses!

I have $4,000.00 cash put aside for the Hoe.

I've made a list for what I plan to spend my cash on

I'm looking for an LQ4 6.0L

I'm either going with Finish Line or Monster for the 4L65E

4L65E / 4L70E-5 Extreme Duty – Level 5 - $2,550.00 with core exchange
http://www.finishlinetrans.com/transmissions/extremeDuty4L65.htm

4L60E 4L65E Transmission, Remanufactured, Super Duty, 4.8/5.3/LS1/6.0L, 4x4 - $2,025.00
http://racetransmissions.com/store/product_info.php/cPath/1_25_185_188/products_id/546

I'm going with Yank for the Torque Converter

I'm gonna do a Floor Shift from Lokar

Lokar Auto Shifter - $250.00
http://www.lokar.com/product-descriptions/auto-trans-shifters.htm

Gonna need to get Black Bear to Tune the new PCM
PCM Tuning - $250.00

Transmission Fluid - $150.00

Oil - $50.00

Exhaust - $250.00

motor mount adapter plates

Painless wiring harness

input gear in my transfer case

new plug wire

Please list anything I'll need.
I'll be doing the build myself and with friends, I'll take a lot of pictures and try to compile the information as well as I can for others interested in doing the same.

Sounds like a solid plan, glad you came to your senses. If you need to get rid of anything let me know. I'd be interested in the CAI or headers if you can't use them.

Thanks man! Once I get the 5.7L Long Block Vortec out I'll either part it out or sell the thing with everything on it, it only has 15-20K miles on it. I'm just trying to plan it ALL out first, and get a list of EVERY LAST PIECE that I'm going to need before I start. I know it can't be perfect but I want to try. I don't like jumping into something without a plan I'm OCD Like that.

Man I wish I had 4k to drop on my Tahoe. You're lucky.

I'd be turning my 350 into a 383 stroker, doing a monster trans rebuild, and doing a bunch of other small stuff ive always wanted to do.

Have fun man and enjoy.

Nice, sounds like a plan.
If you're planning on a 6.0, you may want to look into a 4L80E. From my understanding, even the best built 4L60 65 70 whatever wont be able to stand up to the 6ltr. Remember, they came stock with 4L80Es.

B&M makes a nice shifter for our trucks http://www.summitracing.com/parts/BMM-80680/

While you have everything out, you might as well throw some e-fans on to.

FYI: Put a good chunk aside for that tq converter. Speakin from experience ;)

Well I had always planned on the 80E but wanted to kind of half ass it and do a 65E that was built up so that it would fit up without modification. But since I checked the prices on Monster Transmissions, I can get a Heavy Duty Mega Monster 4L80E for less then a built 4L65E,

4L80E Transmission, Remanufactured, Heavy Duty, Performance, 4WD, 4x4,
[Part# MG4-4L80E] $1,995.00

A guy works for my dad part time and also owns a trani shop so I'm sure I wouldn't have to pay much at all for this guy to just do his thing and make it work ha.

That way I guess I'll never have to really worry all to much about the trani with the 6.0L.

Blizz, I live in South West Florida. I could ship the engine to you when I get it out?
I've got all the paper work, and it has 2 years of warranty remaining on it with Pitstop. I'm not sure if you all have "Pitstop" in Texas but theres plenty in south Florida. Name a Price.

Hey I've always wanted a cowl hood, and to avoid clearance problems with the 6.0L I'm just gonna go ahead and get one before I start. How big a cowl should I get,

I think I'll be fine with one like this, which I'm pretty sure is just a normal 2" cowl induction hood with EDP coated steel.

Steelhoods.com sell's this for $319.00 not covering tax + shipping.

Should I just go through them, or is there a cheaper company?

Just ordered the Lokar Automatic Floor Mount Shifter 16".

I also bought the Led indicated Boot for it aswell.
Is this gonna be sweet or what?!

That does look sick. What happens to the column shift? Do you remove it or just leave it and it becomes useless?

I'll be removing the Column shifter as it becomes useless. Then It won't always be in the way of the double din.

Good news for me, Monster Transmissions happens to be in Tampa, FL. Its like an hour and a half away. If I drive up there, and give them the cash they'll wave the tax and it'll be done in like a week.
