@smccollamjr , you're lucky on your trans temps. My 2006 denali XL was constantly going to 200 degrees just around town driving with probably only 100lbs of detailing gear in the back. So I bought a bigger cooler. I do not want my freshly rebuilt transmission to go south so im doing everything I can to keep it well maintained. That being said you guys are lucky with your trans temp staying manageable.
Mine was running at 200... which is just a hair over the regular operating temp simce i got it.

The accommodation for weight distribution are on the receiver, not the hitch. If the writing is still on the hitch look there. It's on the right opposite the electrical connection. I tried to post a link to another article about it but it won't post.

Look for a thread titled "What Can I Tow" from August 2013 by enypde on this forum in Engine & Drivetrain section.

Someone may correct me here but I believe it WILL still go into overdrive with tow/haul engaged, its just at a different rpm and speed. It'll hold 3rd longer, and on basically any type of hill, then when it flattens out or you dont have much of a load on the engine it'll go into OD. Play around with it off and on on the highway and see what it does, but the tow/haul mode is designed with tranny life and temps in mind. I'd leave it on.

Tow/haul works fine in OD. However, if you find it shifting in and out of OD a lot it's best pull it down to 3. A lot is shifting or lugging the motor in a higher gear generates heat in the transmission, but that typically doesn't happen tow/haul.

i left mine in tow/haul driving thru the hills.
some of the hills seemed to hold lower gear to long for my taste, but once it leveled out, all was well

I would engage the tow haul. Over drive will be fine. You should be fine in over drive. I down shift into 3rd on the steep grades.

The truck did great. The squat was a lil more than I liked, but still had rear suspension travel, so it was ok.

I stopped for fuel every time we got down to half tank... which was about 100 to 120 miles.
