It is supposed to be in good shape. It is white with the hood pad included. Anything I need to look out for? I have been told it is oem, the hood pad leads me to believe that it a gm hood. My paint guy said to look for rock chips as it will require more prep time. Any ideas?

Also I shouldn't have any issues sticking it in the back of the tahoe to carry home should I?

Nope if my wife's cowl hood fit in the back of hers then it will fit in the back of yours. Good luck.

I went ahead and bought a new gm hood from amazon with free prime shipping. The new condition will save time and $$ when I get it painted. Now I have to find the hood blanket.

Well, the hood arrived today via a company called CEVA. When they arrived the box of their delivery truck was a mess, it took them a minute to get the hood out. I noticed that the box was laying on its side despite the fact that it had arrows pointing up. I noticed that the front of the hood had some light scratches on it. I opened it up to find that is has a very light dent left of center on the front bulge of the hood. I am sure that it won't take much work to fix it, but I am not too happy. I payed extra to buy a new GM hood so that I would't have to worry about dents and dings. I am going to call Amazon about it tomorrow. They must have hit it good to cause the dent as the hood is fairly heavy.

Has anyone else had any problems shipping sheet metal? Am I right to be concerned or am I just being to picky?

You bought a brand new hood, and this is exactly what you should expect.

IMO, you are therefore definitely NOT too picky and I hope you get the product you expect, or at least a refund accordingly.

GOOD LUCK, ........ Keep us posted.

I would expect a new hood from them. Do not let them talk you into keeping that hood. I'm sure you want to do this mod ASAP, but just remember you paid for a brand new hood and should receive it in brand new condition....

You wouldn't believe how many new hoods we get straight from our parts dept with a small ding here or there. Most of the damage happens when it ships the factory and gets to the dealership.

I wish you told me you were looking for one, I could have gotten you one and had it painted!!

Amazon is very easy to deal with. They are sending another hood out and they will pick up the old hood when they drop off the new one.

Yea, ordering the hood was a spur of the moment thing. I thought I was going to buy a used hood but that didn't work out.

The replacement hood arrived Friday, this one is in better shape. I did notice drivers side front corner seems to be bent back very slightly, I am sure that the body shop will be able to bend it back to line up with the finder perfectly. It took a bit to actually notice it, it is very minimal.
