I may be worrying needlessly but, other than the part number difference the new and old dashes from my truck seem identical in every way.

Oh well; it’s installed now…
I wouldn't worry about it. It should last another 7-8 years. By then, you'll probably have moved on. It's in, it's done. No more rattles:)

How da hell?! I copied/pasted the number from that link you posted and I swear that "2" was a "7".

I think figured it out. Google automatically completes it to "...4747", probably since that's what I had been searching for and I must've breezed right through it.

*Sigh*
Old age is a mofo. I should probably look into sending myself to the glue factory.

I think I see where you picked up that number. I quoted James and he had that number in his comment.

Or maybe this is what happened. Still, if my vision is getting this bad, I might should not be behind the wheel. And if I can't drive any more, then I don't wanna live on this planet any more.

I revisited my dash install today. I recalled a comment about the brackets under the airbag and then remembered that one didn’t seem quite right. I pulled the airbag again and took out the two 10mm mounting bolts to find the right side bracket lifted up a lot. Thats what I recalled and I believe it creates stress on the other side of the left bracket where the first crack always starts. As I pushed down on that bracket I believe I could see the flex in the dash where the other crack was in the old dash. I found a spacer that fit perfectly and reassembled everything. The slots in the airbag mount still allowed for assembly too. Gad I came back to that!
