Fuse Box top half removal

Hello Gents
I want to pull the top half off my fusebox to check for corrosion, etc...should the battery be disconnected first?
I see the handles, but am leery of pulling too hard. Am I on the right track ?

Yes Pete, i would definitely disconnect the battery prior to pulling it.
You do have to pull pretty hard to separate it but we’re not talking gorilla grip.
Are you having trouble with anything or just curious? Truck in the rust belt or a southern truck?
My personal opinion…. If it ain’t broke…. Well you know the rest….
