Hi all... first time posting. Recently purchased a 2019 Tahoe... vehicle was really clean and when taking multiple test drives always heard music coming out of the speakers.... so never paid much attention to what was actually playing... well it was sirius/xm.... so when trying the good ole fashioned radio, found out the am\fm reception really stinks. So I have been trying to fix it and not having much luck.. I have done the following...
Disconnected the battery and let it sit for awhile.
Reset the infotainment system to factory.
Replaced sharkfin antenna.
Pulled radio and made sure the wires weren't pinched.
No updates for the infotainment system either.

Google hasn't helped much either. What else should I check? Everything else works fine. Wondering if it could be something with the rear quarter glass but I cant find much info related to how the antenna wire connects to the glass etc...

Thanks!

A couple of easy things to check:

If you have a USB charger or power supply in your cigarette lighter socket, unplug it and see if that solves the issue. Many of the cheaper units generate wideband RF interference.

Some aftermarket LED headlight bulbs cause this as well, but you'd only notice it when your headlights are on.

Thanks for the reply... was happening with the stock halogen headlight bulbs... I dont have anything else plugged in. Its frustrating... hoping its not the actual infotainment system... thats a last resort type of fix

I have noticed around here some days reception can be pretty clear and other days not so much. It does not matter if it's a stock radio or after market radio.
FM is just not as good as it once was and i don't know why.
I'm thinking of trying a signal booster.

you can remove the glove box and then you will have good access to those connections, may as well swap in a new cabin air filter while in the process,
pro tip, there is a little retention cable for the glove box door that you will see, DO NOT PULL on that cable it will just break, it's repairable but no fun

Curious as to what kind of booster you would use? Might be worth trying.
