So heres my problem.. I got my fuel pump replaced the other day to fix my hard starting problem. I got it replaced and it turned out to be a dud so I replaced it again. Doing so got rid of the misfire and difficult warm starting problem. But now it cranks for a while on cold starts. I noticed on the new pump that when I turn the key to the run position it sounds like the pump is running slow, but after I crank the engine over (without starting) for a second and go back to the run position the pump sounds like it is pumping faster. The pump relay is new and I don't think the second replacement pump is bad, what else could it be? I will try to upload a vid of the sound the fuel pump is making later.

That's the deal with all these new pumps.... I also had mine replaced about a week ago, it too was a dud, then got a free one. When the ignition is on put the engine isn't running, from what I'm told is that it does start up, but doesn't start all of its functions therefore creating less noise, and when the engine is running it works at full capacity. Nothing to worry about, just a little bit annoying.

Good that makes me feel better. Now I just need to figure out why it suddenly doesn't like to cold start..

What brand pumps are you guys using? Everyone says to go with OEM ACDelco as they last a lot longer than any other brand.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say Delco. My mechanic did the swap and thats the brand he uses on everything else. From my experience he doesn't cut corners.

Isn't there a TSB on needing to replace a harness/connector at the same time as the pump to keep from repetitively burning out new pumps? Almost positive....
