This past week I also found these exact same cracks in my dash. Not sure if I over looked them when I was cleaning the dash or if being in a different climate than my home is in caused them to appear, but they are definitely there now!! It broke my heart to see them there and after reading through every post in this whole thread, I am now a little disappointed in what the outcome might be. I don't have the kind of money that is being mentioned to repair this obvious manufacture's defect to just throw out on something that may happen again. Please HELP ME GM!!! I have been a loyal GM customer for over 14 years and never seen a problem even similar to this on any of my other vehicles.

Just like many of you, I have two different GM trucks, BOTH with the exact same cracks in the exact same places. By now everyone must know it is not Armor All, the sun, or any other excuse that has been given.

I am not sure what to do about it, but there should be some remedy GM comes up with to make this right for their loyal customers.

My sister just purchased an 09 Yukon SLT and didn't notice any cracks on the dash during the test drive and while looking over the vehicle. She drove home 2 hours in the dark that night only to get up the next morning to leave her house and guess what she sees. 1 very large crack at the passenger side airbag and a long hairline crack on the drivers side of the gauge hump. Now the long hairline crack she may could have not noticed but the passenger side one is HUGE! So big she is trying to remember if the dealer may have had a folder or something on the dash trying to hide it. So now to my questions. Is this only occurring on the black dashes? Her yukon only has 58,000 miles I think so shouldn't the dash last a lot longer than that?

It is an equal opportunity factory defect on all color dashes that GM makes for their trucks.

Yes, it should not crack after 100K, much less under 15K which is the lowest I've read it has happened to.
Heck I have several cars from the 1980's with no crack in the dash, so a couple of years is absurd.

And the man of the hour is hear!

Few questions I have to ask you GM:

1- from the 90`s until today you have cracked dashs, why? (Even the Chinese auto manufacturer dont have it!)

2- Localy the gulf market (GCC) it is in an extremely BAD shape, you chose the worst dealrs ever (KSA market) they are the worst!! My taho3 is 98 model and they refused to do any services or checks or even selling any parts!?

3- Why you accepted the bottom of the market sales share for this country (KSA) when Toyota dealr manged to get the highst number of Land cruiser sales in the world and Ford the highst number expedition sold in the area and yet ZERO nothing big you are not hear we are the owners have hard time finding spare parts for all models!?

4- Last, maybe the local dealer manged to pull the highest number compared to other dealers previously but you did a huge mistake! You are losing I dont care who or how you did the narket study but for sure not by local auto market experts!

Such lost known to all Cadillac no want to buy it because of many reasons (mostly dew to the local dealer) other Koreans/Chevy models coukd do much but not like this the fuel in this country cheap by all means and you cannot sell trucks! Wow

Add me to the list of people with cracked dashes. '07 Yukon around 70k mi. For about a year or so there have been two small cracks around the airbag cover in the same places as everyone else right corner and left corner. Those were easy to ignore even though I pamper my truck. About 2 weeks ago, "snap, crackle, pop!" There goes the crack in the hump above the steering wheel. I ended up having to put some silicone adhesive on top of that crack because every bump I'd hit the dash would rattle LOUD.

I contacted Jennifer also, I'm not expecting anything, but we shall see. If GM doesn't assist with this problem, does anyone know where to find an OEM dashboard?

I bought mine at the dealership - others found them cheaper from sites like gmpartsdirect. I installed mine myself and it was tedious (lots of screws/bolts) but very doable. I have another post with directions called DIY dash replacement. The cracks in my old dash originated underneath where the dash is bolted to the dash frame which tells me the bolts were prop over-torqued in the factory. I had the same rattling - very quiet now.
