Hello! New to the forum with a Yukon a customer gave me...

Long story short...she had it about 9 years, bad dealings with a dealer, been sitting dead in the garage since last December. Call mechanic friend as he has a 2001 Tahoe and this would be a good parts car. He suggested fixing up for my son, who is soon to get his license.

-Towed from customers house
-jump started at repair shop
-codes read...nothing showing
-tranny flush, very dirty
-leak fixed
-5.3 280,000 miles
-$800 invested

Runs real good! Son loves it.

-has rear seal leak
-headliner droop
-radio shot
-passenger door window, lock no work
-smokers package, working on the smell. see cabin filter
-rust in the usual spots.

Welcome! Love the color and the clear headlights are a bonus. Tires look good, too.

Even with the rust and mileage, it's a bargain and a cheap but safe ride for your son's first. Teach him to use it responsibly. Will he be involved in the repairs? It'd be a great father/son project and with the radio needing replacing, there's opportunity for fun repairs/upgrades with a sound system.

How about a build thread to document the changes?

Awesome find. Congrats. Will be a great father/son project. Any interior shots? X2 on a build thread.

Sure, a build thread sounds like a good idea. Even better luck (I guess) a blizzard hit.

Perfect time for the lad to test drive in Hi 4 and a blizzard (the 4 wheel drive works!)!

I was glad my 2006 did not have a cabin filter . Somethings are better left to mystery. [emoji106][emoji16][emoji15][emoji849]
Got love the high mile finds.
