That Nano seal, does it dry clear?

Yes. It is stated to be hand applied only. I had a challenge because it was so hot, my working area needed to stay small so it wouldn't dry too quickly.

I still love finishing everything off with 1-2 coats of Collinte's 845 Insulator Wax. It is butter smooth and the water just beads off. Super easy to apply and wipe right off. The clay and 3M Machine Polish made a huge first and second step difference. Anything after that was a bonus IMO.

Might have to try that. Been searching for a sealer that dries clear simce my paint ha a ton of tiny "rock chips" for lack of a better term. Always get the thing nice and shiny and then these white dots start appearing all over lol. Looking for something that helps fill them in.

I lost the front A/C blower fan speed #2 a couple months ago and lived with it. Fan speeds 1, 3 and 4 died at the same time earlier this week. #5 blows super cold, but it was only a matter of time before it stopped working. Too hot in Florida at the moment to have no front A/C.

Hit up Amazon Prime for a new A/C Delco GM part number 22807123 blower motor resistor and changed it out today. $47 shipped. Made in Slovenia. Got all 5 fan speeds back today.

Here are a couple of pictures of the old and new resistor as well as my climate controls for comparison, as there are many different part numbers and a few different climate control configurations when looking for the actual replacement resistor.

No mods to mention this post. Pulled the cover off her after 2 months away and she was still looking shiny. That truck cover was worth every penny to keep the UV, rain, dust and anything else off the paint when she can't get the TLC each week.

I did take care of a couple maintenance items.

Back in June, I was having issues with my driver's side caliper. The truck had been aligned and the tires were Road Force balanced and inflated to 40psi. During average to hard braking, the truck pulled hard to the right. On two separate occasions the caliper locked up and heated that side up super hot, making the truck hard to accelerate obviously. Took it into my buddy's shop, where he found that the brake line coming down to the caliper seemed to be getting pinched thus reducing the brake fluid flow to only the driver's side, thus causing the pull to the passenger side and the caliper locking up on the driver's side. He replaced the front brake lines and back in business braking like it is supposed to be.

A few days after I got the brake lines sorted, the Service Air Bag light came on the DIC. No time to deal with it before the summer, so I ordered the Dorman replacement via Amazon Prime and had it waiting for me. New sensor on the left and old OEM sensor on the right.

The replacement was pretty straight forward. I took extra steps and disconnected the battery and pulled the Airbag fuse just to be sure. I did not have the code pulled first to see which side was bad, so I had a 50/50 shot and started with the driver's side. Nope. Swapped out the passenger side and the light went off. Plugged the OEM sensor on the driver's side back in and replaced the passenger side sensor. The hardest part of the swap was getting your hands up behind the bumper to get the 10mm wrench on the bolt as a socket driver will get stuck on the frame once you back the screw out. I did watch a couple YouTube videos to give me a heads up first as to the location and what was involved. The front impact sensors were $70 shipped via Amazon Prime. I bought two just in case both sides were bad, but will be returning the spare for credit.

My rear lift gate handle pins popped out, basically rendering the lift gate handle useless, as it had come apart from the insert that is bolted to the lift gate. I had the OEM one, but it is the black textured plastic. I tried to get the pins back in place, but the space is so tight and I feel that the crimped end of the pin may have wallowed out the plastic of the handle, so I decided to heavy duty zip tie the pieces together. All was working good. I ensured the cable was tight and routed properly before replacing the interior trim pieces and closed the door.

I tried the door again a few days later and neither the glass nor lift gate would open. Hmmm..no time to deal with it. So I researched on YouTube and found this video on how to open the door from the inside of the truck with the trim pieces in place, in case your motor stops working or as in my case, the handle and push button both were not working.

At about 1:36 he shows you the exact point where to lift the top plastic piece and slide your fingers in to slide the door latch and open the lift gate. Pretty much dead center between the top and bottom trim pieces in the middle of the door. Popped open the lift gate and I pulled the trim pieces off and everything was intact. I'm thinking I may have pushed the trim pieces in too far in the center which may have pushed against the lock mechanism which would not allow the handle or push button to pull the cable far enough against the bound plastic to unlock it completely. Tested it numerous times and all is working as it should be.

So im guessing this isn't your DD? Was that mentioned before ? Lol

So the brake line was pinched from the drop ? Stock brake line?

Glad it was just a $35 sensor for the air bag.

And just finally shave that hatch already!!!

My 06 is not my DD. Keeps the mileage low. Driving the company 2013 Suburban at the moment and switch out my 06 on nice days :).

It was an OEM brake line as far as I could tell. Not pinched from the drop, just seemed to be restricting the brake fluid to the caliper near the bracket by the rotor on the driver's side.

Service Air Bag light is off on the DIC and only took about 30 minutes figuring out which side was bad plus the sensor cost, so I was pretty stoked with that fix.

Hit up the junk yard today. 2 Yukons and 1 Escalade ESV that were picked to the bone.

I did find these little gems in the ESV to trade out my yellowed OEM rear A/C control knobs for the Esky ones as the indicator line is pure white and matches the previously changed out Esky rear A/C control panel. Much cleaner. Just need to find two more for the front A/C control panel. The little things...

Could just be the age and heat over time made them yellow. You can see a little bit of white at the bottom of the Tahoe knob. Don't know, but was stoked to make a little change.

Found a few more interior pieces at the junk yard.

1. Passenger side A pillar. The top plastic peg had been broken off so it would let go and hang there at random times. Cleaned, replaced and tight.

2. The carpeted flap piece behind the 2nd row seats that covers the gap when the 2nd row is folded forward. The long piece had both hard rubber nubs and both metal/plastic clips broken off before I got the truck. (I still cannot find a correct part number to search online nor help other guys who have been looking for this part or what it is actually called by GM and finding one in the yard that is not stained or molded so bad has been a challenge.)

The carpet needs a clean, but looks to be salvageable and matches my OEM carpet color on the back of the seats. Very happy with this find.

3. On two of the 4 doors the rubber bumper was missing. Now all 4 doors have their respective rubber bumpers.

4. The 2nd row seat belt between the 60/40 split on the driver's side had the cover broken when I got the truck, but I could never find the correct part. It seemed that different years/trim levels seemed to have a different way of attaching it to the truck/seat frame or it went missing when the 2nd row seat was ripped out at the junkyard. On my 06 LS, it is attached/crimped to the seat base with a thin metal washer and then bolted down with a 15mm nut to the welded bolt.

Anyways, out with the old and in with the new. Plus, now my daughter can buckle her seat belt much easier and it doesn't look like crap with a missing cover. Thankfully it never ripped the seat either.

5. Found 2 more knobs for the front A/C control panel in pure white, since my old ones were yellowed just like the rear A/C knobs up top. So much cleaner!

Now I just need to find the temperature slider knobs to complete the change out.

Oh the details! I had the same issues with the 2nd row seat belt but forgot all about it. Luckily I found the pieces of the buckle under the front seat and they snapped back together. I bought the other belt part from an online dealer. Good job.
