foglight housing shakes

im sure other ppl have the same problem on they're fog shaking a lot while they drive. i took avlook under there and it just seems to have 2 bolts on the bracket and thats it. if anyone has any ideas on how to secure it more so the shaking stops i would really appreciate it. the reason why im trying to get the shaking to stop is because i wanna get HIDs in the fogs to match my headlights.

mine shook so much the cap over the bulb broke off. dangling around inside the fog housing. Got to replace the light again.

when i originally bought my tahoe, the fogs were both smashed in. so i replaced them with oem and tried them out and they are nice to have, but shake to the point where they dont help. let me know if u find anything on it.

Only thing i know is a crazy friend of mine, decided to super glue the brackets somehow to the fogs and his do not shake. But not my recommendation.

Forgot to add, that one reason they do shake is b/c of the way they mount. Not to the bumper but to the bracket. The fog itself. If you have looked, you will see its mounted by just push pins. Fabbing up something that actually uses metal, or screws might work better. Might look into something this weekend.

I thought it was just the shit aftermarket ones I had that did that. (the OEM's were missing when I bought the truck). Is there a solution? I've dicked around with them but not been able to come up with anything that worked. Mine shake so much I can't even use them- they just fill the holes down there.

I got new ones and looking at it, the new ones i got bounce a little, but not as bad. It appears to be the adjuster area. When adjusting / aiming them, it gets loose and wiggles / bounces, it seems. Im thinking of getting some washers on the adjustment part. Adjusting them and making it permanent sort of. So it wont bounce around.

I messed around with mine for a while and redid the mounts, eliminating the springs and replacing them with bolts and spacers. I thought I had it until I put them back on the truck. I think that whole lower valance is flimsy and adds to the vibration. I just leave mine off.

Thats about what i was thinking of doing, replacing the spring, etc. maybe not.

Im still thinking its the push pins that hold the fog light itself to the bracket. Going to try replacing those w/ bolts.

I know this sounds crazy and i don't remember the exact locations, but i used zip ties on mine to keep them tight and stop them from bouncing. They would still bounce/shake on large bumps, but not the constant shaking they used to do

So I replaced with some off EBAY and they look great However now I have the shake you guys speak of and it is annoying the crap out of me. I kept the originals & I noticed the originals have what appears to be a more heavy duty spring.
Has anyone tried to swap out the springs with the originals? I haven't had the time but need to do something.

I actually found a pair of OEM brackets (yes, brackets only) on eBay and thought the answer to my shaky-shaky problems was found. Apparently GM did not keep the same foglamps/brackets throughout the NBS run and they didn't fit at all. Completely different than mine. Figuring I'd never be able to use them for anything and never be able to sell them myself, I threw them in the trash.... $40 down the drain. Open the box, see they are wrong, throw them away. I was pissed....

I thought about spending the $$$ on a new set of OEM lights but do they shake as much as the aftermarket crap? I don't ever remember them shaking like this on the new 02 suburban I had.

Well, my new ones, aftermarket ebay ones, after driving now for a few days in the dark, do not shake. They will move- checked and its from the adjusters spring. But driving does not shake at all like it used to w/ the gm fogs that were on it.

Starting to think the shaking is from the spring / adjustment area. (not the push pins)
