Howdy,
My name is Greg, I bought my Yukon off my dad this past spring when he went to purchase a newer SUV. Nothing major done to it so far other basic maintenance and freshening up the exterior a bit. He was never meticulous about maintenance on his vehicles so I've been slowly fixing little things here and there. I'm new to GM V8's, previously only owned and driven import 4cyls which I'm sure I'll catch some grief for, lol. I've worked in the automotive world the past 5-6yrs, currently as leading parts sales for local Honda dealer.
Couple things I've done so far:
New taillights (some ******* sideswiped it while it was parked on the street)
New black housing headlights/signals and bulbs (previously had all clear)
Tires - Firestone A/T
New pitman arm, idler arm, RF upper control arm
Some future plans -
2-3in lift - Probably Rough Country or just replace the shocks since it rides pretty bouncy.
16x10's
Full exhaust - still debating, I think the cats are starting to go bad
Change all the fluids since I'm pretty sure the trans and front diff fluid has never been changed while he owned it. It has almost 173k on it so it could probably use it. Probably won't get too crazy with it. I mainly use it as my daily beater during the winter, baseball, and parts hauler to keep the miles and use off my other vehicle, an '05 Impreza. I'm a lucky in that Summit Racing is only 15min away and one of my buddies owns all GM products (lifted Suburban and 90 454 4x4 CK) that can help guide me in any future modifications.
