I want to flush my break system. I got a quote from a local break shop to do it for $40.

My question here is, how difficult if the job? If it is a PITA i will just fork up the $40. But if it is a simple job i will do it myself.

how is it done? Is there a drain plugg somewhere?

I used to do it on my WRX a lot. I raced it and needed to flush out the fluid every couple of months. I could do it in my sleep now, but towards the end, I just took it to a shop

thats the last thing on my tune up list. i don't want to deal with the air, so maybe i'll have to breakdown and let a shop do it.

for me its less the money and more the fact that you hear about shops putting used fluid back in.

yea, this place (Just Brakes) around here has pretty good prices on break stuff. The offer all four wheel ceramic pads with lifetime warranty for $100... not a terrible price. Im sure if i shopped around i might be able to match that but i dont think i could do much better on the price personally.

I think i will take the truck down there this month and try to get a deal on the pads and flush.

thanx for the help guys

It's easy to check if the fluid is new. Just check it out before you leave. I personally have never heard of shops doing that though.
