I finally figured out a use for that worthless opening at the bottom of the temp control panel. I was looking for a creative way to mount a couple of my radios without having to go back to the police center console and give up my jump seat. While rooting around one of my boxes of spare parts I found a fence post connector that I probably got at Dome Hepot a while back. Turns out it fits perfectly snug in that space. I bolted on a another piece of treasure from that box and it holds my dual band perfectly. When I don't have that in my handset clips on nicely.
