If it comes as a locked unity, how do I unlock it?

Ok, just got with a tech. Says tech2 will not work has to be done through SPS, i think that it the gm servers to get it to unlock.

@915_Tahoe, if you get a chance can you ask that tech how a refurbished unit at Amazon can be sold advertised as "Unlocked" and if that is possible to just plug in and install and will work right then? I do appreciate the help with this.

They can be unlocked by outside sources then once you plug it to your vehicle it grabs your vin and is now locked to your vin until removed and unlocked again. Part of the theft deterrent system.. you can’t just take it from 1 truck to the other without unlocking it first.
