So I am looking at new radios for my 13 Silverado (Bose, non nav) and I am really digging the factory looking ones but not sure on the quality. I thought only Advent and Rosen made them but I am seeing a bunch of different ones and the prices vary a lot. Do you have one? Know someone that does? Is the Car Show brand the new Rosen?

Forgot to mention I would like 4v rca outputs, do any of them offer that? I read somewhere that the car show ones were and then read that they are not, specs are not easy to find on these.

Leaning towards this one http://www.ebay.com/itm/Car-Show-CS..._Dash_Units_w_GPS&hash=item53fcd6cc97&vxp=mtr

My cheapness is talking me out of it though :(

I sell the Rosen piece and it doesn't have any RCA outs. I am unsure of the Advent. I saw the Chinese knockoffs but didn't like how cheap it looked. Personally, I would look for one that has the best of what ever it is you want. Do you want great GPS, MP3, Pandora, Ipod ???? I just installed the Kenwood DNX-570HD into a 13 Enclave and was very impressed what you got for the money. I used the Maestro interface that allows you to read vehicle info like TPMS, engine data and more. It allows you to retain any video and/or siriusXM too. Here's a link to it on the Acadia forums with pictures.

I thought the Rosen ones had rca outputs? The one I linked to Ebay shows them. I have used quite a few aftermarket units but just like the factory look of these units.

Well, my personal experience on the Rosen pieces are they are a little over priced for what you get. Yes, they are plug and play but I didn't feel the audio output is all that great. To me, the adapter kits out there make the installs look pretty good. Good enough I don't see much difference between a "factory" aftermarket radio and any other decent radio with a good Metra install kit. The only benefit to the Rosen piece is the plug and play part. If you just want something that looks factory but don't care about anything else then the Rosen piece is what you should get. If you like music, I'd slide towards the Advent piece.

I have gotten the impression that the Advent unit is a little more geared towards town but then the specs on the car show units looked pretty comparable and didn't even know if they still made Rosen. What is the pricing on the Advent? I am either dumb or the ADC site does not show pricing.

We sell both where I work. They are both OK. Rosen does not come with rca's but you can buy the rca add on harness that plugs into the back of the radio. Advent has some low volume issues but I would stay away from the ebay ones. We've installed some of them people have brought in and a lot of them wont read ipods and have to be reset when the navigation freezes up.
For the money it isn't worth it IMO. You can buy a nice JVC, Kenwood or whatever that will sound better and give you a upper line brand for less money.

I had a rosen.. not sure it was the current available, it was junk - sent it back
got the OGM1 from a member here, updated the firmware and I'm happy with it the nav function and map updates are good
it did come with some extra inputs for adding more components
xm,pandora, bluetooth audio stream, dvd vid in motion, usb/ipod in glovebox and custom splash screen...
only issue is the buzz at volume level 1 that people talk about,, I still need to go back in and see about that

with the eq set and loudness on the bose speakers sound better :2cents:

Have you tried aftermarket amps and speakers or only the Bose?

:lol2: I was just wondering if if is a problem with the stock Bose or if it is present in RCA portion.

I'll have to check a few things out but I'm guessing power is touching a rca jack or something wire related- I'm rusty on car audio haven't installed a real system in years , being lazy I just turn it up and I don't hear it...

playing this album in its entirety also helps

I am just wondering if it is an issue with wired portion of the speaker outputs that would not be present with the RCA, may be just a dream...

BTW, don't go chasing waterfalls.

The buzz with the OGM1 is something luckily I have never had an issue with. You would need to check to see if its coming through the RCAs or what? You could also try to run an extra chassis ground too. Other than that, you'd have to try some ground loop isolators?

I think he is running through stock wiring so adding another ground is his only option. If we become a dealer I will run an ogm1 and if not I will probably run an aftermarket, sigh.

You can use the factory sat. antenna for aftermarket units. The plug is directly behind the glovebox. They make an adapter thats about $10 just so you know.
