I think I may have brought this up in a different thread. I pulled exhaust off a suburban, cut the intermediate pipe (collector to muffler) shorter and welded it together so it would fit my Tahoe. Any welds I do, any clamps I try, just break when I go offroad.
My plan is to install a second flange in front of the muffler so I can (1) better weld the exhaust and (2) pull that intermediate pipe out. There's no way to pull the muffler off without pulling the whole rear end off or cutting and welding sections.
Long story short, I've been shopping flanges and really really just want a 2nd factory style flange as image below. I have the other side (in my junkyard scrap pile) but don't have the collector side...
Any idea where to just buy that flange?
This is the part that keeps breaking. I had to cut it where the green arrow is and take some length out of it... I've now welded the piece a half dozen times and put a collar on etc. etc. etc.
I bought a better welder this last time... Long story short though, would be MUCH simpler to fix and work on this stuff if there was a flange at that green arrow.
