Factory Amp

I have tried to find the answer to this but cannot. What size is the factory amp in an 02 Tahoe without bose?

But what is it? Does anyone know? Is it enough to power a JL 8W7? Another question. After I install an aftermarket head unit will the factory amp and sub still be used or would it be pointless to put a JL 8W7 in the factory sub slot?

Factory is between 16-26 Watts. Again, not very much. If you do use that sub your going to under power it and that may not be a very good idea. So, I would reccomend buying yourself a good amp to match it. Same for the door speakers as well. They use a factory amp. I am about to replace that amp as well and soon as I can find enough time to take the dash out and all the seats out to do so.
