I've posted this already but I'll see if I can get some answers.

I replaced my 246 np8 transfer case in my 1999 tahoe and now I'm getting a service 4WD light and its stuck in 4wd. The selection lights for 4wd aren't working. I did not put the transfer case in neutral before removing the encoder motor. How can I get it to work properly?

I was thinking I need to put the transfer case in neutral and check the fuses. Do I have to reset the encoder motor as well or just the transfer case?

putting it in neutral is not required according to the service manual. check fuse #2 t-case and #24 4wd on the fuse block near the drivers door.

After looking it over I found that I didn't have one of the speed sensors all the way plugged in. Transfer case shifts fine, however the selector switch for the 4wd isn't lighting up. Fuse still? Selector itself?
