Emergency brake line under the rear axle

So this cable is dangling very low, it is located on the rear axle, left side of my 04 TAHOE.

Does anyone have pictures showing what was holding this cable up??? I tied it up with nylon ties as a temp fix, and while it held up for a bit, the ties eventually broke.

While it was held up, the emergency brake had more pull, now the pedal sinks to the floor since this cable is dangling.

Drooping brake cable on 2003 LS

Asked my mechanic if there was a issue with this brake cable drooping. Said it was normal, but I haven’t seen any it on other similar age Tahoes or Yukons. Don’t take 2WD off road, any reason to worry?
