I'm new to the site thanks for having me I've been doing some upgrades on my nbs tahoe with a 5.3 and the next thing on my list is the fan I wanna go with electric fans but don't know which ones to go with any help would be appreciated thanks

I've found several after market set ups that will work as well cause mine don't have all the electrical hookups I've found some external thermostats but how is that gonna effect my head pressure for my A/C

The OEM fan harness hooks to your ECU with two wires.
The ECU will turn the fans to the correct mode when needed.
Temp and ac.
You will need a 05-06 radiator for that ebay kit.
Also via a tune, turn on the OEM fan control.
Cost will be aProx what a flex lite kit would cost. But, you get OEM fan control and all the perks with it. The biggest bonus is the noise level. OEM is quiet. Flexlites or aftermarket universal fans are loud as hell.
When i had my flexlites, i had to turn off the vehicle at food drive throughs.

If you go pure aftermarket. Hayden temp sensors are the best.
Use two of them, one for each fan.
Then tap into the relay trigger for fan #2, with the AC clutch wire.
You will need a diode to keep the temp sensor and AC clutch from cross talking at the wrong time.
Example.
You have two fans and temp sensors wired independently from each other.
Fan one turn on temp 180.
Fan two turn on temp 225.
Fan two relay is wired to AC clutch, no diode.
Normal operation,
Fan one cools engine.
Fan two turns on with AC clutch cycle.
Your engine begins to over heat and hits 225.
Fan two temp sensor tells fan two to turn on, while also sending 12volt signal to AC clutch.
But you, was smart and decided to turn off AC to reduce load on the engine, in attempt to help cool the engine down.
But it doesnt work, there is no diode on the AC clutch trigger wire for relay two.
This forces the AC clutch to engauge negating your command to turn the AC off.
So if you want to do it, do it right.
And hope all of these systems with the aftermarket setup doesnt fail.

My '02 denali had the right radiator for the '05-'06 fans I installed already, pretty sure there are 2 sizes of radiator and I think it needs to be the bigger one! Let me rack my brain and see if I remember for sure!

as much as i would like to endorse EZ link I personally had a horrible experience buying "factory" fans from an 05 Yukon. I paid $250 for them from a yard and had a horrible time keeping a harness on them from melting. I ended up buying a 2nd wiring harness from Nelson and these fans from amazon https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003QVFUMS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and they are only $166.
The "new" dorman fans work better and are quieter than the "factory" fans with no headaches so far. I'm also running a cammed 6.0 with a small stall and no issues so far..hindsight I would've gone with new fans with a factory harness..just a piece of advice from my first hand experience.
did i mention I also burned up a $600 alternator cause of them stupid fans. I still have them and will sell them for $50 lol..

Sounds more like a harness issue you had running the factory fans Bottomline2000! I've been running my factory fans in my '02 without really any issues for 5-6 years and I think the weak link I have in my setup is the aftermarket harness I went with! What harness did you go with originally?

It was a harness from blackbear and the fans had such a high amp draw it overloaded the wiring and it literally melted.. like I said I still have the fans and will sell them cheap if someone wants to prove me wrong lol..

I've been looking into changing to a ls1 camaro type setup. It seems people are running camaro a/c pressure sensors and the computer has full control of the fans i.e. no more tapping into the ac wire harness. The factory harness is the way to go no doubt.
