New forum member, first post, so be gentle with me
I want to do a dual battery setup in my 97 Tahoe. I've seen lots of information but still have one question. If I use a solid state isolator (140+amps for my alternator), does it matter if I use different battery types? I want to use a deep cycle for my aux battery.
I can see where the same might be necessary if I were wiring them directly in parallel, but I would think the isolator would negate that issue.
Also, any suggestions on which isolator would be best? I was looking at the Cole Hersee 48160.
