Dreaded rocker rust- options?

I love my 04 Tahoe LT (193k) but the rust on the rockers is terrible. Can the rocker moldings from an 04 LTZ be installed on it to help hide the rust- once its cut away and primed? What other options are available?

The rocker panels can be replaced. They actually make 'slip on' rocker panels that go over the existing ones. You do have to cut away as much of the rust as possible, but this makes it much easier. However, usually the cause of rocker panel rust is rusted out wheel wells... water then fills the rocker panel...
