Does this oil filter fit my motor?

Hey guys I’m halfway through and oil change and can’t get the oil filter on, I ordered it based of a recommendation or something. I can get it about half a turn on then it binds up on me.

I have a 08 5.3 lmg

No, that one has SAE threads and fits the GMT800s. Your threads are metric.

EDIT: yours would use a 57060 or 57060XP if using Wix. I'm sure others will have other recommendations.

I ended up going with the WIX 57045XP, it’s a little bit longer than the 57060XP.

2 Months ago I ordered a bunch of oil filters and guess what, I ordered 5 of the wrong oil filters again. I have this post and some documentation that both confirm the WIX 57045XP is the correct oil filter for my 08 tahoe but I still managed to buy 5 WRONG wix 51522XP filters almost 2 years after I originally made this post and I just realized it as I'm trying to do another oil change the filter doesn't fit again probably can't return them. Fail!
