Does anyone have experience with PowerBass OE replacement speakers?

I am looking to upgrade my factory Bose system but don't want to revamp the whole thing. Eventually I will do a new headunit to get CarPlay but that's about as far as I am planning to take audio upgrades. I know that doing regular speakers supposedly impacts volume and sound quality because of the ohm ratings be different (even though I did kickers in my 05 Tahoe with the factory Bose system and a pioneer headunit) but supposedly these PowerBass speakers are a direct replacement and seem to get good reviews across the internet for different vehicles. Anyone here run them?

First question.... Is there anything wrong with your existing Bose speakers? If yes, then replacement is a good option. The model

PowerBass OE652-GM2

looks like it would be the one for your Bose system, as it has 2 ohms impedance.

If no, then I'd recommend that you replace the head unit with your CarPlay first, as this upgrade will most likely give you the most bang for your buck.

I think all of my current speakers work fine currently. I was hoping for a little better sound without needing to go all the way to a new headunit. But you are right that the headunit is going to offer better gains overall. I had a birthday gift card that would purchase the speakers but I guess I will wait for the new radio instead.

Yes. I guarantee you that changing the head unit first will produce positive results for you, and then you will be in a better position to assess and determine if your current speakers are adequate.

Hello. I am following up on this thread. What did you decide as far as head unit/speaker replacement? I am asking because I have had a front and rear speaker go out on my 07 Tahoe. Has anyone else installed Powerbass products in their Tahoe/Yukon yet. I ordered the Powerbass 2 ohm component speakers for the front (OE65C-GM2), and the Powerbass 4 ohm coax speakers for the rear doors. (oe652-gm2). I have the factory bose system so technically, my front speakers are 1.9 ohms and the rears are 3.6 ohms. Options for a 2 ohm speaker for the front doors were limited, and the Powerbass basically being an oem fit seemed like a logical decision. I have not replaced my factory radio yet. I hope to have all of the speakers installed within the next two weeks. I can report out once everything has been installed and broken in.

I do have an after market stereo and amps.
For me, the Power Bass 2 ohm set OE-65C-GM2 with tweeters sounds great without the factory tweeters in the pillar.
This set of Power Bass sound like 5hit PBXPRO-65C, 4 ohms. Very little mid range, tweeters are too tinny.
I am going to replace the PBX set with the OE-65C-GM2 when i get around too it.

Thanks for the reply, SpareParts. If I'm reading your response correctly, you disconnected the factory Bose tweeters, correct? Where did you install the powerbass tweeters?

The OE-65C-GM2 i have not used yet. But they will fit in the pillars with some messing around.
I did not like the pillar tweeters up high. A few weeks later i installed the PBXPRO-65C tweeters in the doors and disconnected the pillar tweeters.
