1999 tahoe 5.7L 2wd
I was driving on the freeway then the car just died.
Got it towed off
turns out it was a timing issue
So after pulling out the distributor(it was loose) i noticed that the rotor spins freely from the shaft. is that suppose to happen? or is there suppose to be no play at all between the shaft and rotor, let alone you can spin the two seperatly?

the dizzy gear or shaft should not freely rotate from the rotor under any circumstances. the dizzy body should have been firmly mounted with no movement in the engine block. the shaft does rotate n the body tho.

Fixed

Got it fixed. Replaced the distributor on the side of the road. Then started right up and drove it home. Thanks!
