Dipstick

Sorry if this is a stupid question,
The oil dipstick in my 09 5.3L is spiral on the lower 90% of the stick with the handle being riveted on. Are they all like that or do I have an aftermarket replacement and they twisted it to shorten the length? The one in my 99 burb was flat.

Well they suck.
It's a pain to wipe. I wonder what the engineers at GM were smoking?
