The Ranger DFM module will be my first mod on my Tahoe.

Also use 0W40 oil instead of 0W20Great, it's a fantastic mod. As long as you know it only disables the electronics of the DFM and Auto Start/Stop system. The Mechanical components are still there, i.e. collapsible lifters.
Frequent oil changes with a high quality oil changes are the best way to extend the longevity of the motor with all the unnecessary mechanical components of the DFM system. Most users here will recommend 3000-5000 mile oil change intervals, and also to ignore the OLM % that the dash shows. The OLM% on the dash under normal conditions will extend oil changes out to 7500-10000 miles. Which is WAY to long for these engines. They like fresh oil, which is why most will recommend that 3000-5000 mile interval.
I have had the Range module installed on my 2021 since I purchased it in Fall 2024. It's been flawless.
This video should help you get it installed.
I saw a disassembly video of a failed 2021 6.2l with very low miles, almost new. The metal and dark oil in the pan was unbelievable. The crank main and rod bearings were heavily worn with debris damage. I hope the problem was solved for my 2026.Great, it's a fantastic mod. It sounds like you're new to the 6.2-woes party. These videos have been out for a while now, and there's no consensus that the problems have been "solved" beyond the '24s. So, just be vigilant. Installed the RA007 on the new Tahoe 2025. Cant hear a difference with the stock exhaust. Since the car is new and havent driven without the 007 much, cant feel a difference. Any proper way to check it?
I have OBDLink MX+, but not sure where to check. Doesnt show any cylinder activation stuff.
My 21 Yukon Denali does this as well - as I discovered when I put in a new battery! YIKES it's loud. One PRO TIP for those with the Advanced Security Package, when you disconnect NEG lead on main battery it sets off the piercing siren thats attached to the secondary battery thats hidden to power the Advanced Security Features. Scared the living Sh#! out of me and you cant disconnect that I know of.
Trust me I tried every button on the fob....NO JOY!My 21 Yukon Denali does this as well - as I discovered when I put in a new battery! YIKES it's loud.
I 'think' I was able use the Fob to stop it? Not sure if that worked or it ran down on it's own![]()
So anyone with one of these range modules installed since new not have issues with their 6.2? Anyone install one of these and still have their 6.2 engine fail? Just curious how viable of a solution this is.
Do these modules void warranty?
Do the 3-5k oil change intervals make a difference?
Be curious to know success rate on 6.2 owners following these steps having/not having their engine blow lol.
