I hated the stock light output of the Denali headlights so I ordered the FX-R projectors from TRS. I optioned for the Morimoto 6k XB35 bulbs paired with 55watt ballasts. I used Apollo 3.0 shrouds for a clean OEM look. I used this tread for some input but I can say make multiple cuts to get as close as possible to the projector bowl shape. I used 2 sticks of JB Steel Stick and 2 sets of JB Kwik. The steel stick filled up most the gaps on stock bowl cut and held the projector pretty good. Then I used scotch bright to rough up the surface on the projector and stock bowl. I used JB kwik on the projector and only used foil tape where the bi-xenon wires come out. I mounted the ballasts near the horn on the passenger side and just inside the radiator bracket on the driver side. The light output is amazing and looks so much better than stock!

looks good. Wonder if you could do the same thing with projectors from some old acadia headlights?

That would be an easy retro! Just open up the lights and unbolt the stock halogen projector. Get some steel sheet from the local ACE hardware and cut it to fit in stock location with mounting for bi-xenon projector. Reassemble and ride with HID retros!

Thanks for the compliments fellas! I noticed that the lights are pointed a tiny bit to the left when driving straight. I am going to do a mod to the mounting points of the bowl to re-center them in the road. I will post up details on adjusting the beam pattern in Yukon headlights when I get weather conditions and time. Probably next month I will be able to do it.

How did you know if the projector was aimed correctly? How do you adjust the light beam?

Use this DIY to set stock lights correctly then cut and match projectors to match tape marks. I marked mine and when installing the projectors my match up was correct to the tape line but the tape line was not correct to original halogen output. So when driving down a straight road the lights are aimed a tiny bit to the left.

To adjust the beam slightly left and right, there are two mounting pivots at the bottom of the headlight that are metal. Thos two ball pivots are screwed into the plastic housing, so to adjust very minor left and right just unscrew the inner/outer pivot ball to adjust light beam left/right. The vertical adjustment is the only one accesible when the light is assembled. I plan to use some washers to set the pivot ball screw height and tightness. Once I get around to opening the headlights up next month I will post some pictures.
