Denali and High Country Diesel Payload

Can some of you with a diesel Denali or High Country model post your max payload from the door sticker? My current, 2016 Denali is rated at 1542 lbs and I am looking for a new diesel unit but can't find one locally to check the payload number. I need to stay in the 1500 lb range for payload.

Brandon, can you share what options your truck has? I am assuming the max trailering package. It seems that the higher optioned units take away from payload.

Sure do, the more stuff, the closer to GVWR they get.

TFL Truck did a video with a Diesel Yukon Denali and its payload capacity was 1408 pounds and towing was 8000 pounds.

The most payload you can get out of these vehicles is the 5.3L 2WD with minimal add ons. With that setup you should get around 1800 lbs. For reasons mentioned already, heavier engines, air ride, etc cut into the payload on the higher end builds.

I am thinking about trading an Expedition for a 22 Yukon Denali XL 4wd deisel with basically the same ultimate package and premium capability package. I'm a little worried that I will be down to midsize class payload once all of those options are added.

Fantastic other than 2 non starts where I left it for an hour and it started. No idea why it did it.

This has been reported on quite a few pick up trucks with the LM2. GM has come up with a update to the software to eliminate the no start Crank….There is a whole thread on it on duramaxforums.com

I personally haven’t had it yet but if it becomes an issue I plan on getting the update. I had my truck in for the free oil change about a month ago and they said if it hasn’t happened to you no need to apply the patch yet….

Wallace, yes and they found nothing, no error codes. No replication. Actually taking it in this week for oil change #2. So far so good.

Sorry about the late reply. Affirm. I have every option hence the low payload. But I also tow a 2020 bullet 287qbs and I towed from Chicago to northern Idaho this past summer without incident. Truck tows like a beast but it inhaled DEF to the point I needed to top that tank off at every diesel fill up to be on the safe side.
