First post, been browsing the board for some time now. Searched this term already but only seen one article that really didn't answer my question.
Recently bought an 04 tahoe 2wd with the 5.3. 218k miles. Seems there is a huge delay when shifting into drive. Literally, two full seconds. Fluid looked good. Read that it may be caused by the wrong fluid. Should I try to drain and refill with the "correct" fluid for peace of mind? I'm almost positive I'll need a transmission soon being that when I shift into 2, it doesn't really pull and it's noisy. Back to drive... Once engaged, it drives perfect. No noise, no vibration. Just trying to see if there's a fix for the delayed engagement. I'll never use 2 so not worried about it. Thanks in advance for helping.
