Debadging

Thought I'd start this topic since it's always brought up. Feel free to add anything I missed. I used a hair dryer, fishing line, and goo-gone. Heat the emblem with the hair dryer. Once it was warm and the emblem would move I used the fishing line to remove it. Once it was off I used goo-gone to remove the rest of the sticky stuff that was left. Then I waxed the area.

and actually, if you leave it in the sun, you don't need a hair dryer, or a heat gun, in most cases.

and a 3m eraser wheel is your best friend.

Would this same process work on removing the Flexfuel emblem as well?

yeah. and actually, it should be easier on your 09. just use a rubber spatula wrapped in a towel and wedge it off.

Thanks, I'll give that a try. I gave it a shot the other day using a flathead screwdriver wrapped in a towel, but this way sounds much better.

grab 2 pencils... cut about a foot of fishing line. wrap and tie fishing line under the eraser end on each one. and use the sawing method... your fingers will thank you

Word on the 3m eraser wheel. You might need to buff the spot lightly afterwards as well. Most OTC waxes people use afterward tend to having "filling" properties that fill in the scratches that might be there. I prefer to know the scratches are not there and will buff the section afterwards.

I prefer to have everything off. That's just me though

Totally agree. The eraser wheel is awesome and makes it a lot easier.

In case you don't fish and don't have fishing line, dental floss works too

I haven't de-badged my Tahoe yet but I debadged my TL a long time ago using dental floss!
