Ok, so my original question was, do I need to bolt in an outer CV joint end or not, and it appears that the answer is yes. So, I will do that.

You can dismantle the removed shaft to get just that part to install. Don’t hack job cut it like mentioned earlier. There is a video how to take them apart. I will try to find it for you.

@915_Tahoe May be able to look up a part number just for the stub shaft if you choose not to disassemble

I just took the cut off wheel to mine before I had kryptonite bearings lmao

If its awd you cant drive with a missing shaft. If its 4wd you can put a dummy joint in to hold the bearings together.

I have a spare axle and I know how to remove the joint.
