Hopefully someone can steer me in the right direction here ![Happy107 :happy107: :happy107:](/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/happy107.gif)
Is it possible to retain the factory door chimes if one uses the RCA Preouts of an aftermarket head unit to feed into an aftermarket amplifier?
I currently have a Pioneer AVH-X3500BHS headunit installed with a GMOS-04 running through the factory Blows amp & speakers.
There should be a JL Audio XD700/5 amplifier on my doorstep by the end of the week!
I could give a rats ass about OnStar, but if it's possible to retain the door chimes using my aftermarket headunit and amplifier, that would be nice.
I'm hoping to mount the amplifier near the Bose amp by way of removing a heat sink as described in another thread ... which should hopefully allow for easy (relatively easy) access to tap into pre-ran speaker wire!
Much thanks in advance!
