70 MPH is my sweet spot as well. I caught a slight incline about halfway through the vid so the MPG dropped a few, but then it levels off and the MPG goes back up.

I'll be lucky to get 15 on the highway, city probably like 12 to 13. It's not my daily driver either so don't really care.

My 04 Tahoe with 3/5 drop on 24s this is the best mileage I have got everything has been replaced on this thing. Let me see what everyone else is getting post your pics!!!View attachment 260426 View attachment 260427
A few years ago for fun I did the calculations for what the theoretical fuel consumption should be compared to vehicle speed for my Tahoe. The huge frontal area has a significant impact, especially as speed increases. Here is what that analysis showed.

The blue line is the theoretical MPG and the red dots are what I observed in my Tahoe under controlled conditions (straight, level road with no traffic or wind, where I could hold a steady speed for at least half a mile). My observed mileage hit very close to the theoretical curve, so I think it's pretty accurate, not that my Tahoe is going to hit 200 or even 150 mph. Anyway, if you want to get the most miles out of a tank of gas, you should drive a steady 30 mph. :)

MPG is irrelevant in many ways. I have a 1300 mile trip coming up in my Camaro. If I drop my speed from 75 to 55 It adds about 7 hours. How much is 7 hours of your life worth?

as of right now that is about what I would get out of 3 trucks right now!! but I can understand it at least.

03 denali 6.0 awd with 285's average 12.5

03 Tahoe currently running e85 averaging about 10.5 and about 13.5 on regular

02 burb 2500 8.1 4.10 I have bested about 12 so far.

so honestly I would think it should do a little better but your still in the range of average.

possibly tune up, tire pressure (as well as type of tires), or other issues that could take a couple mpg

So true, I remember going deer hunting with my dad as a kid and it was a 6 hour drive, we would leave after lunch and get there for dinner at the cabin.

I made that same drive last fall for a football game ( daughters a cheerleader and we were in play offs) and made it in a little over 4.5. So yeah, while 65mph will get me about 18 mpg on a long drive the 16mpg was worth the saved time.
