Well, I learned two big lessons tonight.
1. I was way off on the bracket I pulled off and 2. There are many small differences between the 02-05 Denali consoles and dash bezels.

I had to tear the dash all the way back to the console lid to get it out and when I compared to what I pulled in the junk yard, there are quite a few differences.

This turned into project creep pretty quickly and while I had everything apart I decided to repaint the trim and fix the cup holders as well. Everything except the dash is repainted but I need to figure out how to reattach the trim around the cup holder area. It looks like the cup holder assembly is only held on by little plastic tabs with the ends looking like they push through then are bent or melt under the cup holder assembly. Terrible design.

I'm thinking of some type of glue or double sided tape. I want it to be strong enough to not fall apart again anytime soon but also be able to remove again if needed.

Any suggestions? When I got the truck the cupholder assembly was already disconnected and looks like all of the clips broke.

I will say the 99-02 cup holder design is way better where the whole assembly is held to the trim with about 10 screws. Super solid.

Good idea. I'll give that a shot this weekend and see how it holds some weight.

The start of all this was finding a hinge for the lid. I found one today and compared to an 02 and it is just slightly different in one corner. I'm going to clean, repaint and lube the springs and start putting it all back together over the next few days. 02 on the left, 04 on the right. The 04 was missing a spring so I pulled the pin on the other one and swapped it in. Brought it home, made it a little straighter and it should be good to go.

Still cleaning the under area before the cupholders go back in. It is filthy but it's coming along. I tried silicon to hold the bezel to the cupholders. I put the silicon in the same spots where the old clips should've gone and put some weight on it to set over night. Shooting to have it back together tomorrow.

I bought a complete center console from an Escalade. It was in great shape, but it was filthy with coffee stains on the carpeted sides. I took it completely apart and used soap and water. Came out great.

That looks great! Nice work! Can you take the console out as a whole or do you have to break it down piece by piece?
