Carpet Replacement

Has anyone replaced the factory carpet in their Tahoe?
Do you have a preferred place to purchase it?
Do they sell a half kit that would just do the front, the back is perfect.
I have a 2006 Z71.

Thanks for the store link as well as your install link, I've been toying with the idea of changing out the carpet in mine for a while now but that's a great price for a complete kit so might actually have to make it a reality! See you installed it around sept, you still satisfied with the quality of the carpet?

Welcome sir. And yes The carpet still looks amazing. Granted I'm not hauling anything more challenging than my kids, but changing the entire truck out to the next shade darker not only upgraded the look but also the smell. Red Rocket suggested the darker color shade, but still matches the carpet on the back of the 2nd row seats.

It was almost 10 years of nasty as you could see from the pics.

Quality good. Looks good. Worth the effort hell yes. The custom mats still look and feel great too. You can really see the difference when you open the doors and see nice carpet under the seats by the kick plates and under the dash.

Get the mass backing. Get a new pair of shears to cut that mass backing and just take your time. It is pre-formed, but just needs a little massaging especially at the tranny tunnel, 2nd row seats elevation and fine trimming at the kick plates and rear wheel humps.

Plus on a side note I learned how the interior came apart which was pretty cool to see how all the pieces go together with clips and a few hidden screws.

8078 Dark Grey plush cut pile with the added mass backing. The dark grey blended nicely with everything else as I have the pewter interior. I considered Charcoal and Black. They can send you free samples to compare as well which was very helpful.

I noticed looking @ that last pic the bottom of the door panel has carpet in it. The other three Denali xl models and the esky esv that belong to the family that I live with who I spend alot of time with all have carpet on the bottoms of both front door panels. I detail their cars all the time and noticed them. Then I noticed that my 2006 Denali XL doesn't have carpet on The bottoms of front door panels. Anyone else's 2006 model like that? Lol.

Mine originally had the thin stuff that's on the back of the 2nd row seats and sides of the console. I ordered some extra from stock interiors.com and replaced that on the doors. It had foam backing and was hard to peel but worth it. I think it would be easier if it didn't have any to start with. I just used spray glue.

Its not really a big deal. My door panels are easier to keep clean cuz of no carpet. Just wipe them down with my interior cleaning product and off I go haha. I was just wondering if it was maybe a running production change or something. Do you notice less noise with the carpet in the door panel?

Sounds about right! I don't notice noise cuz my ipod is always plugged into my stereo and I'm almost always crankin up country music!

No carpet on my doors. 2006 Tahoe LS. Easier to keep clean and the stereo and exhaust are always at a decent volume. Haha

Country...like your style. Was on my house painting jam session yesterday. Kept the monotony flowing. Brush right, brush left. Haha

Interesting. Maybe it was a production change for 2006 on the carpet. And,that country music is kind of a part of life growing up in a small town and being around horses alot and such haha. Plus I like to two step so country is good for that :-D
