I lowered my 06 tahoe about 18 mos. ago, and a few months after the drop I noticed a rattling sound but couldn't figure out where it was coming from. So, I kind of left it alone, but now it's starting to happen more frequently, but only after the truck has been sitting idle for awhile after I turn off the engine. The rattling happens as soon as I turn out or back up from a parking spot. I went underneath the truck earlier today and kind of started to bang around to see if anything was loose near the cat converter, etc. I could not find anything loose. I started to bang at the rear drivers side tire and I can hear a rattle, but it's not as loud compared to when I turn it out from a parking spot. It has to be something behind the rear tire, but I can't figure it out. Do you think it might have to do with the spring behind the tire?
I'll actually be leveling out the tahoe next week when my new tires, wheels, shocks and leveling kit come in so we'll see since the stock springs will be re-installed.
Do you guys have any ideas what it might be?
