Can I switch from OE 22" wheels to 18" with Z55?

I think I'm going to try switching to the OE 18" wheels and tires from my OE 22". I currently have the Z55 suspension package, will that negatively affect the ride quality if it's originally damped for the heavier wheel and tire setup, or will it not even make a difference except possibly being even smoother?

My concern is if it's damped for the heavier wheel and tire, will the lighter setup not compress the suspension as easily over bumps and result in a more jarring ride?

The only issue to consider is if the 18" wheel will clear your brake calipers. The active shocks change in stiffness act on the movements of the truck (yaw sensor primarily) and not on the weight of the wheel/tires. It would be a good idea, though not required, to perform the Automatic Level Control (ALC) procedure after changing to a different wheel/tire combination.
